New Mimaki UJF-3042, Desktop LED UV Printer
Mimaki have announced their new desktop UV LED inkjet printer, the UJF-3042, an evolution in desktop promotional & industrial product imprinting, and personalised gifts printing.
This desktop UV printer is perfect for high quality short run production printing and sampling, on a wide range of substrates up to A3 in size, and is generating a lot of interest from industry – and from educational establishments.

The use of LED UV curing, combined with the ability to print to a vast choice of uncoated media, makes for a very cost effective solution.
This is a highly versatile desktop UV printer, with a maximum print resolution of 1440x1200 DPI, capable of printing onto uncoated substrates such as glass, metal, wood, plastic and acrylic at up to 50mm thick & up to A3 in width, and with the ability to create textured effects & Braille.
The print speed is also very impressive for a desktop printer, being able to print a full A3 print, including printing the white, in just 4 minutes!
Low energy consumption is not the only benefit provided by the LD UV curing technology utilized by this printer, the added benefit is that due to the smaller heat output in comparison with other curing methods, heat sensitive materials can be imprinted without the risk of heat damage.
The ability to print white ink means that coloured, transparent and metallic substrates can be printed to with the white as an over or under printed feature, either as a pad or in perfect registration.
The desktop size of this printer not only makes for a more conveniently sized printer for desktop use, but also facilitates easier installation, having being designed to ensure that it can fit easily though a standard width door.
Mimaki’s superior 16 bit Postscript RIP software comes included with this printer.

The New Mimaki JV5-320DS Direct Dye Sublimation Production Printer
Mimaki have announced their new super wide format dye sublimation & direct to fabric printer, the JV5-320DS.
At 3.2m wide, and with all the productivity and quality features of the Mimaki JV5, this digital production textile printer is capable of high speed printing onto polyester substrates at high speeds and with exceptional results.
The Mimaki JV5-320DS is based on the award winning Mimaki JV5-320S solvent super wide printer, and has been designed in reply to the growth in demand for outside soft signage on polyester textiles, that are better catered for with water based dye sublimation inks.
This super large format direct dye sublimation printer boasts some extremely useful & productivity enhancing features, such as the ink catching trough preventing any staining to the back side of the fabric when passing through, the new drying fan which prevents the media from sticking during the winding process, and Mimaki’s new Spray Suppressor System to improve printing consistency.
The JV5-320DS also features Mimaki’s Automatic Media Feeder (AMF) to allow stable feeding of heavy weight media, of up to 130kg.
This soft signage printer can reach print speeds of up to 60.3 square metres per hour, and deep vibrant colours are made possible with Mimaki’s superior Sb52 dye-sublimation ink.
The Mimaki Bulk Ink Supply System (MBISS) is also available for this printer, which provides an ink load of 2 litre containers and enables long uninterrupted print runs, and significant cost savings on ink.

With a printing width of up to 1850mm , and with features such as adjustable ink volumes (depending on the fabric being printed, and the design), the ability to print both direct to fabric & dye sublimation printing, the versatility of inks available for this printer (dye sublimation, acid & reactive), and the uninterrupted ink supply, the TX400-1800D is a very exciting development in wide format digital textile printing.

As well as the versatility of available inks, and being able to print direct to textile & via dye sublimation, another great feature of the Tx400-1800D is the ability to adjust the ink volume that is jetted by the print head, depending on the design being printed, and the fabric being printed on to. This feature gives this new printer a real edge when it comes to the ability to achieve outstanding effects & depths of colour.
The new Mimaki dye sublimation ink has been specifically designed for low vapour emission, which gives greater control over the impact of vapour on the media, leading to am increase in the sharpness & quality of the image.
Ink is delivered in 21 ink containers, with reusable outer cases, which helps to achieve substantially reduced ink prices, and helps to lower environmental impact. The patented Mimaki UISS (Uninterrupted Ink Supply System) ensures the automatic changing of inks when one 2l-ink container runs empty without an interruption to the print run, and a maximum of four liters of ink (2x2l per color) allows for longer unattended bigger print runs.
An additional model within the Tx400 series, that will be avaliable from spring 2010, will include an adhesion belt carrier system to stabilize flexible materials that can stretch and contract during printing.
